Austin Powers 2 Demo
The Austin Powers movie effects are all done on Macs
with Electric Image as the main render package and many
different composite solutions.

I worked for Dave
Johnson at Pacific Vision on the second Austin Powers.
First was the moonbase. For anybody on the first
row of the theater, you could see every bolt in the struts
of the girders in the moving doors of the moon base shots.

These were models made of millions and millions of polygons, highly detailed. Built,
textured, lit and rendered the moonbase model from scans of original sculptures
by Carol Koch. This was all for four shots in the movie, including the
big finale explosion.
Set up the Arete water and built the yellow submarine in Softimage for
approach to Dr. Evil's island. Rebuilt the penis rocket based on Mike
Myers' original sketch and Bill Church's original model.
Also did the time tunnel roto and composite, the two interiors of the
under-volcano base with the rocket launching, and two shots looking down into
the volcano.
